Postion Overview

Join us as an integral part of the MicaSense team, developing the software and firmware that powers our current and future payloads and sensor systems.  The ideal candidate will possess a wide variety of software engineering skills, and should be well versed in all aspects of software design with a desire to work hands-on on a tangible product line that makes a difference in a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities

  • Develop linux applications for imaging and remote sensing payload systems

  • Design and implement large portions of software components from the ground up

  • Design and implement software tools for production and test of hardware products

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years experience developing Linux applications in C/C++

  • Working knowledge of Linux-based development environments (make, cmake)

  • Strong practical knowledge of C/C++

  • Working knowledge of Python/Ruby or similar interpreted languages

  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership of a project with minimal oversight

  • Familiar with git-based version control for managing large software projects

  • Strong sense of curiosity and a desire to learn new skills

  • Authorized to work in the US

Extra Points

These attributes will push you to the front of the line:

  • Experience working hands-on with hardware and using electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, DC power supply, basic soldering)

  • Experience developing “bare-metal” and RTOS applications

  • FPGA design experience (Verilog or VHDL)

  • Experience developing linux kernel drivers

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails

  • Experience with native mobile applications on Android and/or iOS

  • Image processing experience (especially OpenCV)

  • Robotics, mechatronics, or unmanned aircraft experience
