Postion Overview

MicaSense is recruiting a Finance Manager to spearhead our finance department. The ideal candidate will help us realize our ambitious business plan by improving our financial standards and streamlining our reporting processes. MicaSense is an industry leading sensor developer in the Agricultural Tech market, with a global customer base. We are also a subsidiary of Parrot SA, a publicly owned and traded French company headquartered in Paris (The Parrot Group). The Finance Manager will report directly to the Managing Director of MicaSense and will work directly with the CFO of the Parrot Group. 

Job Description

The Finance Manager will provide leadership in working with both MicaSense and the Parrot Group Financial teams, managing the data analysis and financial modeling of the company. The candidate will develop, implement, and monitor the annual budget; create financial forecasts based on historical trends; assure adequate budget and approvals are in place to support hiring and retention needs; and timely troubleshooting of financial issues as they arise.

Additionally, the candidate will collaborate with leadership team to identify, prioritize, and develop policies and procedures that help develop efficiency and consistency in day-to-day practices. This position will supervise an existing team in charge of administration, accounting, cash management, and payroll.


  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance parties (accountants, external auditors)

  • Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines

  • Support month-end and year-end close process

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems

  • Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system

  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations

  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives

  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Support month-end, Quarterly-end and year-end close process following guidelines of Parrot Group & US GAAP

  • Work closely across the organization to implement right level of procedures and internal control in a growing environment (inventory management, supply chain, R&D expenses, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration

  • 3-5 years’ experience with financial and budgetary responsibility

  • Ability to function autonomously with minimal supervision

  • Analytical abilities; ability to proactively research and resolve questions, discrepancies and inconsistencies

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong and supportive relationships in a team environment

  • Ability to effectively address complex and sensitive administrative issues;  ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented, service-oriented a resourceful

Extra Points

  • CPA, CFA, or similar certification
