Regional Sales Manager (APAC)
Precision Agriculture - Unmanned Aircraft Sensors and Services
Location: Seattle, WA
MicaSense is seeking a Sales Manager to grow our sales and marketing of sensors throughout the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This is a newly created leadership role that reflects our rapid growth and success in this market segment and expansion of our sales throughout the APAC region, with an emphasis in the Chinese market. Other countries being covered include but are not limited to: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, The Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia.
Grow sales in the region by servicing and leveraging existing reseller accounts and prospecting and establishing new sales partners/resellers.
Assumes quarterly trips to Asia-Pacific to visit partners
20-30% travel expected for account management and events
Submit orders, update sales pipeline, record all sales activity (calls, emails, in-person meetings) through Salesforce on a daily basis.
Participate in weekly sales/marketing team meetings to discuss strategies and solve issues at hand.
Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, discovering/developing solutions and collaborating with MicaSense technical support team.
Work to become an industry expert; monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, merchandising techniques, etc. and recommend changes to MicaSense team in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Sales / Business Development experience in the APAC region
Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin)
4+ years experience in APAC Sales
Track record of self-motivation and being able to take ownership of sales efforts
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
These attributes will push you to the front of the line:
Prior experience in reseller channel management
Aircraft sensor, remote sensing, robotics or unmanned aircraft experience
Previously lived in Asia
